French Tall Clock

Antique Louis the XV style marquetry inlaid French tall clock ca. 1785. The clock has intricately detailed fire gilt bronzes attributed to Philliphe Caffieri II.

The marquetry inlaid case of several woods such as walnut, mahogany, cherry and oak is attributed to Martin Carlin, a Parisian · b · niste of the late XVIII C.

The bronzes mounted on the top are puttis playing in the clouds. The case is highly embellished with bronzes representing the mask of Apollo on the sunburst, ribbons,wreath and fleurons.

19th Century French Ormolu

A handsome mid 19th century French ormolu, gilded bronze mantle clock done in the style of Louis the XVI.

Its face has been embellished with a porcelain mounted into a gilded bronze frame and signed by STruxiano/Toulouse.

The mechanism is original.
